Studied the effect of enhanced shear thickening and energy dissipation in polyurethane foams filled with a strongly shear thickening suspension
Measured the effect of the foam on the fluid using compression testing (Instron, Zwick-Roell), and the effect of the fluid on the foam through video analysis with particle image velocimetry
Concluded that the presence of a dynamically deforming solid matrix shears the interstitial suspension at every pore, resulting in a gradient of viscosity increases in the composite material
